ICHCA’s STIFTELSE FÖR GODSTRANSPORT- OCH LOGISTIKFORSKNING bildades år 2001 med ändamålet att främja utvecklingen inom området godstransport och logistik genom att dela ut stipendier till personer som av stiftelsen ansetts ha bidragit till denna utveckling.
/ICHCA´’S FOUNDATION FOR GOODS TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS RESEARCH was formed in 2001 with the aim of promoting development in the field of freight transport and logistics by awarding scholarships to students and researchers contributing to this development.
Stiftelsens förmögenhet har tillkommit genom en donation från den under 2002 avvecklade organisationen Svenska Nationalkommittén av ICHCA som var associerad med den globala organisation ICHCA (International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association) som också lades ned under samma period.
Stiftelsen har årligen med början år 2003 utdelat stipendier till studenter och forskare vid svenska högskolor och universitet. Val av stipendiater görs av styrelsen. Styrelsen för stiftelsen har bestått och består av dels av mycket väl kvalificerade personer från högskolor och universitet och dels representanter för näringslivet med lång erfarenhet och kunskap från näringslivet.
Ansökningar som inkommit under årens lopp har genomgående hållit hög kvalitet och uppfyllt kriteriet att resultaten skall vara till nytta för näringslivet. Den höga kvalitén beror till stor del på den screening som handledare gör där endast de arbeten som har en rimlig chans att få ett stipendium skickas in. Av de ansökningar som inkommit så har antalet arbeten som tilldelats stipendium alltid legat över 50 % och ibland så högt som 100 % av antalet ansökningar i respektive kategori.
/The foundation’s fortune has been added through a donation from the Swedish National Committee of ICHCA, which was liquidated in 2002. This committee was associated with the global organisation ICHCA (International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association), which was also closed down during the same period.
The foundation has annually since 2003, awarded grants to students and researchers at Swedish colleges and universities. Election of fellows is made by the board. The board of the foundation has consisted of and consists partly of very well-qualified people from colleges and universities and partly representatives of the business community with long experience and knowledge from the business community.
Applications received over the years have consistently maintained high quality and met the criterion that the results should be of benefit to the business community. The high quality is largely due to the screening that supervisors do where only the work that has a reasonable chance of receiving a scholarship is submitted. Of the applications received, the number of awards has always been over 50% and sometimes as high as 100% of the number of applications in each category.
